Toyo Tire Corporation has announced it will establish a new R&D Centre in Germany. The centre is planned to begin operation towards the end of 2019 with an objective of building a strong technical foundation, strengthening product development, corresponding to the “movement” of next-generation mobility. With the establishment of this centre, Toyo will have technology development sites in the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Toyo also announced it is to build a tyre plant in the Republic of Serbia, with tyre production starting in January 2022.
The company says that having such facilities in Europe is beneficial as it is home to large numbers of top-ranking vehicle manufacturers and automotive-related companies. The R&D centre will combine material research with technology development and ensure the development and production of high-performance, high-value-added tyres.
