The all-electric luxury sports utility vehicle from Fisker now has a name – Ocean.
The Ocean is fitted with an 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack and has a target range of between 400-480km and will be, the company says, ‘the world’s most sustainable vehicle’.
This claim comes from the materials used to build the car and the innovative tech featured in its design.
For example, there’s a full-length solar roof that will support the car’s electric power source which will, says Fisker, add as much as 1600km of power per year. On the materials side of things, the company uses regenerated nylon, made from abandoned fishing net waste, to create fully recycled carpeting; interior materials derived from recycled bottles and plastic; and discarded rubbed waste from tyre manufacturing. This is all very cool and for those who take their environmentally friendly activity seriously, an extra incentive to take a look at the car.
Reservations for the Ocean will open along with the launch of a mobile app on November 27, 2019. That app can be used to organise a lease option on the vehicle too.
The Fisker Ocean is targeted to begin production at the end of 2021, with the first high-volume deliveries projected for 2022.
