Falken has been chosen to supply Wildpeak H/T HT01A2 tyre as original equipment for the Jeep Compass in the U.S.
Designed with the SUV and 4×4 market in mind, the Wildpeak H/T01A2 features a specific shoulder designed for optimal handling on multiple surfaces and, Falken says, ‘strikes an excellent balance between steering stability, riding comfort and wear resistance performance.’
Featuring a host of hi-tech features, the new Jeep Compass is built on a rigid foundation and will have five engine options – three petrol and two diesel – depending on the market. In North America, the Compass will be powered by the 2.4-litre Tigershark four-cylinder engine producing 180hp and will come with a choice of three transmissions – a nine-speed auto for 4×4 models, a six-speed manual for 4×2 and 4×4 models, and a six-speed auto for 4×2 models.
Off-road capability comes courtesy of two advanced, intelligent 4×4 systems – the Jeep Active Drive and Jeep Active Drive Low. Both also include the Jeep Selec-Terrain system, providing up to five modes – Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud modes, plus exclusive Rock mode on the Trailhawk model.
